Description

The starting point is the village of Ponte Arche. From here, you wind your way up the Strada Forestale via Godenzo and Comano on asphalt and gravel to the summit of Monte Casale (1631 meters above sea level). The last few meters are really steep, but the fabulous panorama makes up for the effort. At the summit, there is a fantastic panoramic view of the Brenta Dolomites, Lake Toblino and the surrounding mountains. The rock face sloping down to the east is particularly striking, offering views as far as Lake Garda in good weather. The descent is initially gentle on difficulty level S1 to the Rifugio Don Zio Pisoni. You can stop for a bite to eat at the Rifugio, and the trail continues here until you reach a cliff edge, where you then turn left onto the Strada Forstale. You then leave this again and switch to an S1 single trail and surf down in this manner on S1 to S2 difficulty to Godenzo. The trail is particularly perfect in spring and fall, as the sparse vegetation opens up a great field of vision. From Godenzo, the route continues briefly on asphalt and gravel before you take another trail highlight to Ponte Arche, the starting point.
