Monte Brugnolo

Monte Brugnolo (Garda)

For anyone who doesn't like the Naranch Trail on Lake Garda, but doesn't want to miss out on the view and is still looking for a decent trail descent: Monte Brugnolo with the descent to Bolognano is the answer.

Description

Start in the small town of Bolognano. From here, the route follows the classic asphalt pass road to Santa Barbara. As many people know, there are also countless shuttle services on offer, which means you can completely avoid the uphill to the Santa Barbara pass. From here, the route continues on gravel and you pedal on towards Monte Creino, the highest point of the tour with the best view. Slightly higher than the summit cross, it offers a magnificent view of Lake Garda and the surrounding mountains.

The descent is initially relatively easy on S1, occasionally S2, past Monte Brugnolo to the positions and military installations from the First World War. You briefly cross the Strada forestale and then take the singletrail to Dosso della Costa with a difficulty of S2, occasionally S3. Some of the loose stones make the trail relatively difficult to ride, as they make it difficult to choose a line. The descent back to Bolognano continues in this manner. At the bottom, you cross the Rio Saloncello waterfall, which is a highlight of the tour.

Praise: Super tour.
Criticism: No more path at about KM 15. Nothing, nada, niente. If you publish tracks without checking them, at least ask if the tour was recorded after 2004.
