Description

The tour starts (like so many little Garda adventures) in the old town of Riva and rides along the legendary Ponale road to Biacesa di Ledro. From Biacesa di Ledro, the route takes the steep but, in terms of the altitude meters to be overcome, most favourable path to Leano and on to the Passo di Guil. From Passo di Guil, most of the route can only be mastered by pushing up to Monte Guil. Once at the top, after a good 1300 meters of ascent, you feel like a little king, because from the summit you have a view that is second to none.

The downhill route initially meanders with a difficulty of S2 and in places S3 level up to Passo Rocchetta. From Passo Rocchetta, there is no turn-off to the left this time, but instead a straight run along the ridge towards Monte Palaer. The route winds breathtakingly along the ridge down to Punta Larici. The difficulty here can be classified as a maximum of S2, but beware: there is an absolute risk of falling here! If you don't have your bike under control here, be sure to dismount and push, as a riding mistake could end badly. At Punta Larici, it's time to enjoy the view and take a deep breath before continuing down the trail to Pregasina. In places, the trail reaches an upper S3 level and should only be ridden in dry conditions. Once you arrive in Pregasina, you should treat yourself to a well-earned coffee. Very important here: take a look at the GPS track, otherwise you will ride past the turn-off. The route continues briefly on asphalt before descending along the old Pregasina road with its endless trail cut-offs and finally starting the legendary Ponale Ruins downhill. This shows its teeth on the last 200 Elevation loss and spits you right back out on the main road. So light up your bike, head back down the galleries and round off the day with a good dinner in Riva.
