La Rosta – Sentiero 618

La Rosta

The La Rosta mountain ridge near Lago di Toblino is a true trail monster that covers every biker's wishes thanks to its variety and length.

Description

The starting point of the tour is Pergolese. From here, the route climbs through typical Trentino farmland and vineyards up to Le Pozze, where the first descent with difficulty S2 to S3 awaits. This leads to Lasino, where you can take in some Italian flair through the old town before riding steeply up the old road to Lagolo. There is a short stop here, as the bike has to be carried over the barrier on the main road (watch out for traffic). From Lagolo, the main road winds its way up to the biotopes between La Rosta and Cima Balon. Slowly but surely, the first far-reaching views open up and the magnificent panorama can only be soaked up. From the biotopes, the route is again very rough and on coarse gravel up to Bocca di Vaiona (1700 meters above sea level), before the last few meters are fought for by pushing up La Rosta. The entire ascent is not a major issue for e-mountain bikers, but biobikers have to get off the saddle every now and then due to the sometimes steep inclines. Once you reach the La Rosta ridge, you can enjoy a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view of the Adamello Brenta Group, the lakes and glimpses of the main Alpine ridge.

The descent initially starts at difficulty level S1 and increases in parts to difficulty levels S2 to S3 and descends directly to Lagolo. From Lagolo, you rejoin the transfer road and finally take on a real trail treat. At difficulty levels S2 to S3, and even S4 in places, the route leads to Calavino. This historic trail, built during the First World War, was designed for bikers. Typical for the region: loose stones, roots and foliage require a high level of concentration. Concentration is also required on the last trail section. Directly from Calavino down to Lago di Toblino. An enchanted trail along the stream shows once again what the region has to offer before returning to the starting point on flow trails and side roads.
