Cima Canfedin – Monte Terlago
Description
The route starts in the small village of Terlago near Lago di Terlago at just under 450 meters above sea level. At the start, the route winds along a small side road to Covelo on a moderate gradient. From Covelo to the Bocca di San Giovanni (1572 meters above sea level) there is no mercy for the calf. E-mountain bikers will get their money's worth here, but biobikers will have to push a few times as the gradient is extremely steep and the surface is very rough. After completing the historic trail, which serves as an uphill to the Bocca di San Giovanni, the route continues moderately up to the Malga di Covelo. Here you can already enjoy fantastic views of the Brenta-Adamello group. The last few meters are very rough and gravelly up to the summit of Cima Canfedin (2034 meters above sea level). The view is magnificent. You can see the main Alpine ridge above Trento, as well as the entire Brenta-Adamello group.
The downhill is impressive. A Witchride, Sentiero 602 on difficulty S2 to S3 goes up to Passo di San Antonio (1893 meters above sea level). It should be dry, as root passages and rocky sections have to be circled with earth again and again. From the pass, you switch to Sentiero 606, which starts at difficulty level S3, passing Cappella di San Antonio, with a few enduro sections with hairpin bends to master. Speed and anticipatory riding are essential here to achieve the right mix of technique and flow. Towards Monte Terlago, the difficulty decreases before you take a short uphill towards Doss Castion and another flow trial to Terlago, bringing the tour to a close. All in all, a promising dream tour away from the hustle and bustle of Trentino.
