Tor di Visione

The rocky outcrop of the Tor di Visione rocky ridge offers a short but flawless all-mountain tour with views of the Non Valley and the Adige Valley and a very technical and somewhat adventurous trail descent.

Description

Start a little north of Mezzolombardo, in the area of the natural recreation area at Torrente Noce. First, you follow the old road steadily uphill towards Castelletto and on to Masi di Vigo. The views are inspiring right from the start: the Non Valley with its countless vineyards and apple orchards in combination with the mighty Brenta Dolomites is one of the most beautiful regions in the Alps.

The climb - later on gravel - is neither particularly long nor too strenuous. After a short intermediate downhill via a staircase and a pushing section, you finally reach the Tor di Visione: a fantastic panoramic balcony with breathtaking views.

This is where the descent begins. First, the trail winds downhill in tight hairpin bends (S1-S2) before turning into the section numbered 516B. This demands technical skill with S3-S3+: Perfect hairpin bend technique is a must here - without it, the only option is often to push. Controlled speed and precise line selection are also essential, as the loose limestone surface offers little margin for error.

The 400 or so Elevation losses are mastered slowly and with concentration. However, for technical bikers who love narrow paths, hairpin bends and challenging limestone trails, this descent is an absolute highlight. Finally, you return to the Strada delle Roste and enjoy a relaxed ride back to the starting point.
