Refuge Jovet
Description
From Bozel, follow the road out of the valley, only slightly uphill along the slope to Montagny, turn right at the end of the village and follow the alpine road to Moranche. At the hamlet, the asphalt road turns into a gravel road, but is always easy to ride. At around 1700 m above sea level, turn sharp right and follow the alpine road. Short, steep ramps require a lot of strength in the legs or a short push. Continue uphill to the left, where shortly afterwards there is another, somewhat longer ramp to conquer. Once you reach the edge of the forest, keep to the right, follow the gravel road in a north-easterly direction and reach the Refuge Jovet.
The descent first takes you south-east along meadow paths, crossing an alpine road in between, to an alp. The singletrail then becomes narrower and tighter and is peppered with several challenging hairpin bends from the small section of forest onwards. You then reach another alpine road, follow it uphill to the left for a short distance and turn right towards the hamlet of Mirabozon. The rest of the descent is pure riding fun. The single trail, which is easy to ride, always follows the course of the stream downhill, with short sections requiring more attention. Just above the village, you reach the first houses and roll back into the village of Bozel, the starting point.
Tip: If you add the loop to the summit of Mont Jovet to the tour of the same name, you will be rewarded with a rewarding panorama. However, you will have to climb an additional 200 meters in altitude from the Refuge Jovet.
