Turó del Pi Gros
Description
The tour begins in the coastal town of Blanes. From here, a path leads uphill through the botanical gardens to a first hill with a magnificent view of the Mediterranean coast. A smooth trail, created by local mountain bikers, leads down to the hospital, where the next climb begins shortly afterwards. A gravel road leads uphill to another hill, which marks the start of the next downhill trail – a fun and smooth section! In this area, however, it becomes clear that many motorcyclists use the forests, which severely affects some trails. The descent chosen for this tour is not affected by this, however. However, if you ride too far to the right or continue straight ahead at a fork, you may find yourself in deep motorcycle ruts.
The descent ends at a gravel road, which you then follow uphill to Turó del Pi Gros (291 meters above sea level). Here you reach the highest point of the tour and the start of the magnificent single trail descent down to Sant Daniel – one of the longest trails in the region. At the end of the descent, the route rides along small roads through agricultural areas and, a little later, back into the forest. After climbing a small hill at Turó d'en Montells, you roll back to Blanes on varied and fine trails.
