Baisse de Fighiera (Sospel)

Small, tough loop with a technical climb up the Baisse de Fighiera. You return to Sospel via beautiful, fast trails.

Description

Start at the parking lot in Sospel and ride up Avenue de la 1re D.F.L. until a stony path branches off to the right after about 500 meters. This is quite a sporty climb. It requires some skill and strength. An e-bike is an advantage here, but an e-bike is also possible. Winding serpentine after serpentine, the trail climbs steeply until you reach the Mt. Grosso tarred road again. Follow this road to the Baisse de Fighiera. The trail now begins on the saddle of Fighiera, flowing but stony - as is typical for Sospel - and not too steep in the direction of Mont Agaisen. After the first part of the trail, you return to the tarred road and pass a road gap on the way to the next trail. If you are brave enough, you can sail about 15 meters over the entire road. Ride along the tarred road until the trail branches off to the left. This is really fun, with lots of tight bends with natural berms alternating with fast passages. At the bottom, you come to the Sospel Skill Park, which is perfect for a few practice laps. Then there are a few more built berms until you arrive back in Sospel. The difficulty of the tour is in the S2 range with a few S3 passages.

Background to Ride MTB
