Sospel

Mont Agaisen is the local mountain of Sospel, from where several MTB trails ride down. The short, crisp loop has a lot to offer on the descent. Steep and root-covered at the top, then rocky and blocked. Here you can put your riding skills to the test.

Description

You start at the town square in Sospel, ride over the bridge and then steadily up the tarred road. There are a few hairpin bends and you can already see part of the trail that you will ride down later. Once at the top, you can take a look at the bunker complex from the Second World War or enjoy the view of Sospel and the surrounding mountains. The route then continues straight on across the plateau until you enter the forest. As the trail becomes steeper and steeper, it really gets down to business in the sparse forest. You have to find the right line through the roots. After a few challenges, the route leads out of the forest and along the mountain. It gets rocky and blocked (no fun in the rain). You cross the tarred road that you rode up a few times. The trail is quite challenging. It is very washed out over large boulders until you finally arrive back down in Sospel. The trail has a difficulty level of S3 and also has some S4 passages.

Background to Ride MTB

Ride MTB is dedicated to mountain biking. With the maps Ride Trail Maps and Trail Books and the print magazine Ride, it has played a formative role in alpine mountain biking for many years and has shaped it like few other organizations.
