This very challenging dream tour above the Roya Valley near Sospel has a lot to offer. Super views and challenging trails alternate. You shouldn't skip the brakes on the way down into the Roya Valley.

Description

The day tour rides up to the Col de Brois and on to the Cima du Bosc. At the Croix de Cougoule, you can see as far as the Col de Tende on the left, with Italy just two kilometers away as the crow flies and the River Roya flowing in the valley below. The descent is fast and flowy on loose, soft ground. This is followed by a traverse with short, rocky, steep ramps. Here you are really challenged. After the trail, you take a forest road to Piene Haut. A small village where time seems to stand still. Once out of the village, the Panoramic Trail begins. Exposed, blocked and with a few hairpin bends, this becomes a challenge. It descends to the Roya river. Once on the tarred road, ride to Olivetta. Shortly afterwards, turn left onto a stony trail back to Sospel. The difficulty level of the tour is in the S3 range with some S4 passages.

Background to Ride MTB
