Brixner Kastanienweg

Klausen (Südtirol)

The Kastanienweg (Ketschnweg) is a well-known route that connects Brixen and Klausen. The tour offers a wonderful insight into the Isarco Valley and is also a great experience for less experienced mountain bikers.

Description

From the town center of Brixen, you initially climb up to Pinzagen and then follow the signposted chestnut trail up and down to Feldthurns. Continue unabated on the chestnut trail in a southerly direction and finally reach the Säben monastery above Klausen. After a short descent to the town center, take the official cycle path along the Eisack for the return journey to Brixen. A little after leaving Klausen, you change banks at the Schmelze industrial zone and reach Albeins. The route continues unabated northwards along the River Isarco until you finally reach the starting point of Bressanone/Brixen.
