Carosello

Val Federia is one of the most beautiful side valleys in Livigno. The ideal way to reach it by bike is via the Carosello and ride down the idyllic valley.

Description

The tour starts in Livigno, where you first ride through the village towards the Bernina Pass. At the Carosello 3000 valley station, you load your bike onto the gondola lift. If you want to climb the 900 meters in altitude under your own steam, take the steep dirt road alongside the cable car. At the top of the pass, you pass the small lake and turn onto the trail into Val Federia. From almost 2700 meters above sea level, the flowing path leads you down into the Valle Federia. You ride past the turn-off to the Chaschauna pass, the transition to S-chanf in the Engadin. Shortly afterwards, a forest road branches off to the right and you ride up to the first houses. Now you can just let it roll. The flowing trail leads you back onto the forest road at La Paluaccia. From here, follow the asphalt road back to Livigno.

Shuttle: Livigno-Carosello cable car
