Erstfelder Seilbähnli-Tour
Description
There are four mountain railway transports on the tour, the first ride right at the start. The Schwandibahn takes you to Alp Oberschwandi, then it's time for the only relevant ascent of the day. This leads about 150 meters up to Strengmatt, the starting point of the singletrail descent to Efibach. And here, as with all the other descents of the day: steep and challenging, through narrow hairpin bends, over ledges and root carpets. In Efibach, you finally roll over to Erstfeld and the valley station of the Chilcherberge cable car. The ride on the open cable car is a spectacle in itself, but the wild ride comes when you're back in the saddle at the top. The descent is once again typical of Uri: steep and challenging. After what feels like countless combinations of bends, you find yourself in the Birchli district and now change sides of the valley. You pass under the highway and reach the Arnibahn. This is used twice for the second part of the tour. The first descent leads along the water pipeline towards Intschi. And again: steep is cool. There are also plenty of hairpin bends. In this way, you reach the houses near Brunni and take the downright flowy final section under your wheels. The trail ends directly at the power station, with the valley station of the Arnibahn cable car just behind it. Once again, the trail climbs up to Arni. The section to Vorderarni is almost leisurely, then the trail leads into the Schletztal valley. Like all the others, the trail is steep and challenging, but much easier than the previous versions. Finally, you reach the Gruonwald forest and roll along a country road on the left side of the Reuss back to Erstfeld.

We did part of the tour today. The first train up the Schwandiberg does not officially ride during the week without a reservation. With a bit of luck, we got up anyway. Make sure you take enough cash with you (approx. 14.- per ride incl. bike). Lunch tip: The Grund restaurant in Silenen is newly opened and serves good, reasonably priced food. The trail from Mittel Arni towards Erstfeld was pretty washed out from the rain but rideable for good technicians.
Supplement:: On the first descent you have to ride an additional hairpin bend (approx. 300m) after Strängmatt. The path that runs directly into the descent (according to the GPX file) no longer exists.
A real blast! Beautifully technical, steep, really blocked in between and lots of rear wheel offset!
The tour is for experienced bikers. Lots of technical terrain or almost everything :-) and steep!
Unfortunately, the first lift was not in operation, or you have to book in advance for during the week.
As you can see in the video, it gets down to business on the descents.
The little trains are really cool, and it's nice that you can use them with your bike!
From Erstfeld the Schwandibahn, at Silenen the Kilcherbergbahn and at Amsteg the Arnibahn.
Cool, you ride through the Gotthard base tunnel 3 times.
