Hauenstein
Description
From Olten, you ride on local roads through Trimmbach, then take the trail parallel to the main road through the forest and finally continue parallel to the railroad line towards Hauenstein. At a small reservoir, turn left onto an old cart track and climb up to Unterwald. You then quickly gain height on small roads and reach the Challhöchi. Now circle the Ifleterberg on the north side and ride down to Hauenstein via Keselberg. Now it's time for the second, but much shorter ascent of the tour. This leads along a small road to Froburg - the starting point of the fun descent back to Trimbach. You pass the castle ruins and then follow the trail slightly south of the ridge. At the very end, you turn off to the north side and reach Hauensteinstrasse shortly afterwards. You now return to Olten along the approach route.

You can/must bypass the marked trail at Schmutzberg. Simply turn into the path also marked on the map about 10 meters south of it (the entrance is somewhat hidden). This beautiful trail rides along the ridge via point 866 to the Kesselberg fork.
Hello!
Unfortunately, I've only just read Kevin's comment.
IMPORTANT! The SCHMUTZBERG trail section is a total disaster!!!
You can still see the trail, but it is very wooded and littered with rotten wood and lots of leaves.
Can someone from the region please send the Ride Tour editorial team an adapted GPX track so that no more bikers have to do this Schmutzberg Jungletrail. The hiking trail gets you to Froburg faster and with your legs healed. From there, however, the trail to Trimbach is a lot of fun.
Greetings Andreas
Beautiful panorama, rather low level of difficulty. The part from Olten can be forgiven and it is better to start directly at the temple. overall actually only tarred or gravel roads up to Froburg. The passage from Schmutzberg to Hauenstein still has a lot of wood and is uninteresting to ride in 2021. Only the part from Froburg back to the temple is really nice. But even there, riding technique 3 is rather exaggerated. So you can do it if you want the panorama before the single trails.
Hello everyone.
I rode the tour yesterday with my girlfriend. Simply brilliant. A little tip. The descent from Schmutzberg to Hauenstein is impassable (logging). A real massacre with branches as thick as Schurter's thighs lying around in mountains.
Alternatively, I recommend the hiking trail to Hauenstein.
Happy trails, Kevin
