Refuge de l'Archeboc
Description
From Bourg St. Maurice, take the road up towards La Rosière, but then keep right and climb up to Les Moulins on a little-used mountain road. Shortly afterwards, a great singletrail begins, which hugs the mountain and rides at a steady altitude up to the village of Miroir. From now on, it gets tough. The start is a steep little road that soon turns into a gravel road and flattens out a little. After Le Crot, however, the going gets tough again. This steep gravel road is a tough one and rides up around 700 meters in altitude in this style. It flattens out a little in between before climbing steeply again just before the hut. The highest point of the tour is reached at the hosted refuge.
The descent begins, which is initially quite steep. The downhill flow is interrupted time and again. Sometimes it goes really smoothly, then another nerve-wracking circular section. You head into the descent, reach a gravel road and follow it downhill for a while until a trail branches off to the right. Here we go! A super-fast, agile and varied trail leads out of the valley. Full speed ahead all the way down to Sainte-Foy-Tarantaise. On an asphalt road, you change sides of the valley and flow towards the valley floor on a mix of trails and gravel roads. At an electricity station, you reach the asphalt cycle path, which you follow along the valley floor back to Saint Maurice.Map & GPX-Track
