Roc de Courroux

The mountain ridge north of the Val Terbi near Delémont is well known to single trail enthusiasts. The longest and most challenging bike trails in the region can be found here.

Description

From Delémont, you initially ride along the signposted mountain bike route to Courroux, then climb up to the edge of the forest and past Les Neufs Champs to a short descent. Immediately afterwards, you leave the official mountain bike route and climb up to the Rechtenberg on a forest road. The route continues eastwards along the ridge until you reach the Oberfringeli farm and start the return journey to Delémont. This rides to the Wasserberg farm, then onto the Horniberg and along singletrack trails following the ridge to the Roc de Courroux. The first-class final descent to Delémont starts here.

Route: Delémont - Courroux - Les Neufs Champs - Rechtenberg - Fringeli - Hof Wasserberg - La Pierrberg - Roc de Courroux - Delémont

The tour starts at a leisurely pace and ends with a single trail on the ridge and the final descent!

Too bad, the imported GPX file on Komoot guided us wrong at various waypoints.
At KM 13.8 you should take the turnoff to karlisberg and the tour would be more suitable for trekking bikes according to komoot. Please check,
But the straight trail and the last part back to Delemont are really fun. Lots of roots, only ride when it's dry.

Nice crete trail, only 1-2 technically demanding sections (S3), otherwise very flowy. Technically easier than most of the other crete trails in the Jura. If you want to invest less time or less energy, you can also just do the second descent, missing out on a beautiful trail to the east, but saving yourself the rather arduous return over sheep pastures to the final descent. The shortened tour adds up to an estimated 800m.

Magnificent tour for fit ebikers ... only a dozen gates ... and nothing to slip over :-) ... the first half is rather a boring ascent ... poor biobikers ;-) ... but from km 16 it's a real pleasure ... nice ride on the ridge !

Tour done on 12.07.20. Nice tour with good singletrail after a third and at the end of the tour. Tour counterclockwise.
