Combe Tabeillon | Ride MTB

Combe Tabeillon

The Combe de Tabeillon is a lonely Jura valley and lies between Delémont and Val de Tavannes. It is the destination of an excellent singletrail tour.

Description

From Reconvillier, take the country road to the village of Saicourt and then follow the signposted mountain bike routes to Bellelay, on to Lajoux and finally to the inn at La Combe. Here you leave the official route, branch off to the right and enter the Combe Tabeillon. Follow the course of the stream until you reach the first houses in Glovelier. Now you start the return journey, reach Brelincourt, ride on to Underverlier and then climb up to Mont Dedos. A singletrail descent leads to Pichoux at the entrance to the gorge of the same name, then you ride via Souboz up to Moron and on to the final descent over the Montagne de Saule to Reconvillier.

I tackled the tour from Glovielier, so the big climbs were more in the first part of the route. Shortly after Berlincourt, a detour is signaled. This is a pushing passage because it is very steep.
The descent to Gorges de Pichouex is much more than riding technique 2, in my opinion rather 4 or higher
The tour is fun and the scenery is a delight. The last part with the descent from La Combe to Glovielier is particularly worth mentioning. A real highlight

We rode the tour from Berlincourt. On the one hand because of the journey via Delemont and thus we also had the 2 bigger climbs in the first part of the tour. Which is definitely a positive thing. To roll in along the Sorne on a very nice trail. Beware of the detour up the mountain as there is damage to the hiking trail. Steep uphill for a few hundred meters (pushing). From Undervilier it goes humorless upwards. Over fields into the serpentine descent to Le Pichoux. Very demanding even when dry. I became a hiker there. Then the 2nd very long climb. You can fill up with water in Souboz. The village probably has the most fountains in the Jura. All in a row along the village road. Up to the Moron. A detour to the tower is definitely worthwhile. Top descent and refreshments at the bakery near the station in Reconvilier. Up and down to Bellelay and finally down the Combe Tabeillon. Technically not difficult but scenically beautiful. We would ride this tour again.

it is a long and scenic tour without being technically challenging (apart from the hairpin bends already mentioned). after berlincourt andervellier along the river there is a narrow cross country trail that is fun. after the mountain moron down it gets fun. on the whole tour there are many cow grids in all variations, not always easy to overcome.

The Combe de Tabeillon is beautiful, but the tour only really begins after that, at km 33 and 38 there are 2 more strenuous climbs and in the end I had 1,785 meters of altitude on the clock. The trail at km 37 is certainly more challenging than 2/6, steep (average gradient 47%), exposed and lots of hairpin bends that can only be ridden with a very good technique. Had to get off the bike in most of them, which is fine with a normal bike. However, I would advise a less experienced rider with a heavy e-bike against this trail. Otherwise correctly rated and a very nice tour despite the strenuous climbs.
