Lake Lauenen has been known throughout Switzerland since the pop song by the band "Span". It is an ideal destination for mountain bike tours, and the approach via the Wispile also offers the best single trail fun.

Description

The tour to Lake Lauenen starts with a highlight - the trail over the Wispile. For the first 860 vertical meters, take the gondola lift up to the Wispile ridge and follow this meadow trail with a first-class panorama over towards Wildhorn. The path over the Wispile to the Chrinetritt is smooth and wonderful to ride. For the descent to Chrine, take the western path at Chrinetritt; the direct route with its countless hairpin bends is practically unrideable. However, the path around the outside is wonderful, even if there are a few more meters of ascent to Chrine. This is followed by a fun and fast singletrail descent to Fang, from where you climb a good 150 meters in altitude on a small road up to Lake Lauenen. The idyllic lake is the perfect place for a long break, with only the return trip to Gstaad still to come. To do this, you follow the Louwibach almost continuously, first on trails past the Rossfalleschlucht gorge, then always flowing and agile along the shore right into the center of Gstaad.

Did the tour in mid-July. First part very nice and pleasant to ride. Then a somewhat steep descent, but only short (black trail). The rest to Lauenensee and back to Gstaad is again good to ride with cool trails. Highly recommended!
