Grimmialp

Tucked away between the Diemtig and Simmental valleys is a wonderfully rugged mountain world, which is well developed with paths and is therefore also suitable for mountain bikers. The route leads from the Simmental via the Grimmifurggi to the Diemtigtal and back again via the Seeberg.

Description

The first few meters of the tour lead from Zweisimmen almost flat in the direction of Lenk. At Matten, you then ride up to the Färmelberg. Then comes the piece de résistance: a steep alpine path leads up to Alp Büdemli and from there you reach Grimmifurggi on a high-level trail. The long descent to Grimmialp awaits, initially on a singletrail, later on a forest road due to a lack of alternatives. Follow the Diemtigtal valley downhill again for a while until the ascent through Meiniggrund to Seeberg begins on the left. The mountain lake is the starting point of the long and challenging singletrail descent back to Zweisimmen.

The panoramic views on this tour are really amazing. However, it's definitely not worth doing the tough ascent just for the descent, as you'll lose too many meters in altitude on a gravel road.
All in all, it's good for your fitness and, as we all know, your eyes work out too.

By "long and crisp singletrail descent" we had imagined something different. It was mainly bumpy alpine and forest roads.
