Monte Bar, Lugano

Monte Bar is one of the great mountain bike classics in the Lugano region. On its back side and on the neighboring Monte Bigorio, there are lesser-known but first-class single trails. The tour offers a new take on the well-known Monte Bar.

Description

Tesserete is the starting point for most mountain bike tours on Monte Bar, including this one. From the town center, take the road through Val Colla, turn left at Bidogno and finally reach the Capanna Monte Bar on a mountain road. After a refreshment stop at this exceptionally beautiful rifugio, the route follows the gravel road to Piandanazzo. Now climb up the moderately ascending trail to the crossing below the Cima Moncucco and tackle the first descent. The trail on the north side and the traverse over to Alpe Ladrim are first-class. The up-and-down route takes you past Alpe Crocc and over to Alp Davrosio - always on well-maintained single trails. Many people know Davrosio from the conventional Monte Bar tour. In this version of the route, you now roll downhill on a road to Gola di Lago and then climb a short distance up to Portico. Now it's back to the trails, all the way down to Tesserete. Fun, varied, occasionally tricky, then fast again - this section on Monte Bigorio has everything a singletrail descent can offer. Finally, you reach the Santa Maria monastery above Bigorio, climb a few more meters on a road to reach the final trail of the tour down to the sports field in Tesserete.

Sehr schöne Tour! Die ersten 1'000 Höhenmeter angenehm auf der Strasse, nachher ein seeehr langer Singletrail in wunderbarer Landschaft ohne techn. Herausforderungen. Der Trail am Schluss ist gut fahrbar (S2 mit ein paar S3 Passagen), technisch anspruchsvoll und trotzdem flowig. Kann die Tour sehr empfehlen.

Die nordseitigen Trails am Monte Bar und Caval Drossa sind noch schneebedeckt. Ansonsten sind die Trails in der Region in Top-Zustand.

Die Abfahrt bis zur Alpe Ladrim ist Blödsinn. Nicht wirklich ein Singletrail, sondern eher ein schmaler Wirtschaftsweg. Kaum Fahrflow, ständiges auf und ab.
Der erste Teil der Abfahrt langweilig, da nur ein breites Runtergerausche. .
Da gibt es wirklich schönere Abfahrten am Monte Bar.
