Alagua-Trail

The Alagua Trail is the no-flow option for the Domodossola region. If you want to test your riding technique reserves, this is the place for you. Steep, rough, high drops, tight serpentines - everything you need for a proper mountain bike challenge.

Description

The start of the tour is quite unspectacular: the road leads from the center of Domodossola via Masera to Pontetto. The village is the starting point for the 1100-metre ascent. It rides along an asphalt mountain road. At Giovera Disotto, turn left and ride downhill on a gravel road to Alp Alagua, which gives the route its name. This is where the singletrail descent begins. A wild, steep and rocky ride. You won't find any flow here, but it is always a challenge for your own riding technique. Thick grooves and plenty of suspension travel are an advantage on the 800-metre trail. The ride only comes to an end in the village of Pontemaglio at the bottom of the valley. The ride along the Toce River is then a comparatively blissful ride. The flowing trail rides up and down to a power station, where the last section back to Domodossola then follows the main road.
