Alpe-Pescia-Trail
Description
From the center of the village of Masera on the opposite side of the valley from Domodossola, head up to Lago di Onzo on an asphalt road and follow this road unabated from there. This winds its way up bend by bend to Alpe Pescia, where the downhill trail begins. However, it is worth climbing a few more meters to the lovely alpine settlement of Le Motte. The downhill trail begins just below Alpe Pescia and rides through the dense forest in a varied and flowing manner. You cross the ascent route again and again, but always stay on the trail. Finally, you reach the Sant'Antonio chapel, which you also passed on the ascent. This is where the last part of the singletrail descent begins. You first pass a few stables and then descend to Cresta on a mix of singletrails and gravel paths. The trail continues just below the village and rides into the village of Masera. This is the wonderful final section of the excellent descent on the Alpe Pescia Trail.

Rode it today, ideal for hot summer days as almost the whole route is in the forest/shade. The downhill is varied, sometimes the path is a bit hard to find. After the turning point at Consorzio Alpe Pescia (highest point) you have to skip the very first trail section of the GPX as this section is completely blocked with wood and branches. I would definitely start further down at the pond. Also, I wouldn't ride this route in wet conditions as there is a lot of foliage (dry is fine). All in all this was very rewarding, S1-2, with some S3 sections that can be bypassed
Tour ridden on 23.6.2023. Nice tour to get used to. Some interesting passages, but overall most of it is rideable even for non-giggers.
The trail is not ridden very often, with some leaves and branches, but no braking bumps or anything.
I rode the trail yesterday (12.05.2019), overall very beautiful and rewarding! In the middle part there is still a lot of dry leaves at the moment, very slippery and sometimes you can't even see larger stones. In the lower part there are several small trees across the trail, but they can be bypassed or climbed over without any major problems. It has some steep and rocky passages, and in comparison with other trails listed here, I would rate it at 4/6 rather than 3/6.
