Cima di Lusia

Lago Lusia

Alpe Lusia is one of the most beautiful and secluded spots in Val di Fassa with wonderful views of Latemar, Catinaccio and the Pale group. This technically challenging mountain bike route combines the mountain railroads with deserted valleys and high alpine single trails.

Description

The starting point of the tour is Moena, where you first ride from the town center up into the Val di San Pellegrino to the valley station of the gondola lift. This will take you up to the Le Cune mountain station. The view of the Catinaccio, the Sassolungo and the Pale group is particularly impressive from here. This is followed by a less spectacular descent on the ski slope route down to Passo Luisa, the starting point of the subsequent ascent to the crossing known as La Trincea. On this section, the bike often has to be pushed and occasionally carried. For this reason, the tour is not recommended for e-bikes unless you are prepared to put up with these almost 400 strenuous meters in altitude. The La Trincea crossing is the starting point of the very technical, alpine but lonely and idyllic descent down to Malga Bocche. The first section in particular is very tricky, but from the tree line the trail becomes much smoother. The subsequent stop at Malga Bocche is worth it just for the view: The Pale group with its pointed rock towers seems close enough to touch. For the descent down into Val Travignolo, initially follow the gravel road to Cianvère and then take the single trail down to the valley station. If you want to shorten the tour, ride directly to the nearby cable car mountain station in Cianvère. On this gravel road, you now climb back up to Passo Luisa, which you already know from the outward journey. The second part of the tour begins here with the return trip to Moena.

Take the singletrail that starts directly behind the pass down to the Valbone middle station. This first-class trail is flowy and fun, but always interspersed with short counter-climbs. Once you reach the middle station, get back into the gondola and ride back up to La Cune. The final descent to Moena begins! After a quick descent on a gravel road, you first have to master a 50-metre ascent that leads over a single trail that can be ridden right up to the last few meters. This brings you to Forcella Pozil and the long descent to Moena begins. The first part leads over a first-class singletrail, which is also familiar from the Latemar tour. Finally, the route turns into a gravel road, which you ride all the way down to Moena (due to a lack of trail alternatives)
