Forca Rossa
Description
The starting point of the tour is Falcade. The ascent here is only a few meters on asphalt. You then wind your way along a mule track across the valley on a variety of terrain and finally a somewhat steep cart track to the Rifugio Flora Alpina. An alternative to this uphill would be the main road on asphalt, which is, however, very busy at times. From the Rifugio, continue in the direction of Rifugio Fuciade. A magnificent high valley with a panorama that is second to none. With the 3000 m peaks in view, you cross the mountain ridge before pushing your bike, sometimes still pedaling, along an old Alpini path from the First World War up to Forca Rossa. The view up here is breathtaking. In autumn in particular, the colorful trees make for a great spectacle.
From Forca Rossa, the downhill trail then leads to the starting point. The difficulty can be classified as S2. A seemingly endless descent, initially on classic limestone/dolomite with hairpin bends, later running more and more into the vegetation line, finally on forest floor. It leads down into the valley to the starting point.
Note: The tour is particularly advisable in autumn, when the mountain pastures are closed and outside the main tourist season, as the number of hikers is very low during this period and you have the trail all to yourself.
