Hochänzi

Napf

The many winding valleys on the north side of the Napf provide an excellent base for mountain bike tours. One of these is the varied route from Willisau to Ahorn and back via Hochänzi.

Description

From Willisau, you first roll over the Honegg to Rufswil and then southwards along the Warmisbach. The longer the tour takes, the higher the hills and the deeper the ditches. Finally, Ahorn with its excellently situated restaurant is reached on a small road. The route now descends on a gravel road into the Hornbachtal valley before ascending on a small road to Süessegg. Follow the ridge to Hochänzi and the Niederenzi farm. A detour to the summit of the Napf would be possible here, but from this side the bike has to be pushed up a singletrail for the last few meters. From Nierenzi you descend to Luthern Bad and at Krutzi you start the next ascent again, this time to the Grausberg. You then ride over the ridge down to Sagenmatt and Hergiswil. Here you reach the signposted mountain bike route 77 (Napf Bike) and follow this back to Willisau.
