Hohe Winde | Ride MTB

Hohe Winde

On the long singletrail tour over the Passwang to the Hohe Winde, you feel far away from civilization.

Description

The tour starts in Reigoldswil and rides alongside the gondola lift in the direction of Wasserfallen. Just below the mountain station, follow the little road straight ahead and along the Bürtenflue to reach the Bürten farm and later the Vogelberg, the highest point of the Passwang. The singletrail on the ridge takes you downhill until you finally turn left and reach Hinter Beibelberg. After a section of forest, the next singletrail begins as far as Chratten, and finally you reach Vorder Erzberg at the foot of the Hohe Winde. The ascent to the summit is very steep and generally has to be done on foot. It's not just the view from the summit that makes up for the exertions, the single trail ahead is also first-class. This takes you to the middle Rotmatt and from there you ride down to the Joggehus. The ascent to Nunningenberg is next, which leads past Beinwil Monastery and along the Zinglenberg to Stierenberg. Just before the mountain inn, the route turns left and rides along forest roads via Lauwil back to Reigoldswil.

Tip: Ascent to Wasserfallen with the gondola lift

All in all, a beautiful tour, lots of nature and away from the crowds. However, the singletrail section is a little meagre. The highlight is the region after the first ascent around Passwang. Not only fitness training but also strength training due to the many pasture gates. It's nice to see that there are already the first rideable gates in this region. At the time of writing, 10 of the 30 or so gates were still open as the fences had not yet been erected. After Chastenchöpfli, it is worth climbing up to Hirnichopf, but the high-level trail to Müeltli is not recommended.

The tour offers beautiful views, but the trail part of the tour is very meagre. Would not recommend the tour.

A tour with great views and nice to ride. And your legs will be a little tired by the end.

Checked 2018

For me, this is one of the most scenic tours in the region with lots of flowing single trails and magnificent views to the south into the Mittelland and north into the Black Forest. However, the tough climbs do get into your legs over time...
