The Zurich Gold Coast is known for its villa districts. But it also has beautiful single trails to offer. The tour to Pfannenstiel is one of the classic tours in the region.

Description

The Pfannenstiel tour starts at Irchelpark and rides along forest roads to the zoo and finally over the Adlisberg to Lorenchopf. You always follow the ridge, pass Binz and Ebmatingen and finally reach the Forchdenkmal via the Wassberg. A short descent later, the route takes you high above Guldenen to Pfannenstiel with its viewing tower and famous inn. In foehn conditions, there is a fantastic view of the Alps of Eastern Switzerland, Glarus and Central Switzerland. The tour finally rides downhill to Toggwil and a section in the Meilener Tobel ravine. High above Feldmeilen and Herrliberg, you head into the Erlenbacher Tobel, which ends directly at the railroad station. Continue along the marked cycle paths to the Seefeld district of the city of Zurich. From here, you can either head straight into the city center or climb along the Elefantenbach stream back to Lorenchopf and cycle along the south side of the Adlisberg and over the Zürichberg back to Irchelpark.
