Reintal
Description
From Garmisch-Partenkirchen train station past the Alpspitzbad and across the meadows near the Hausbergbahn to the Kochelbergalm. There on a gravel path through the forest slightly uphill until you reach the tarred driveway to the Partnachalm. After a steep tarred ramp past the alpine pasture and along cart tracks and forest roads to the entrance of the Reintal valley. The forest road ends here and a somewhat narrower gravel path rides along the gorge down into the Reintal. Now the trail continues along the young Partnach, framed by the 1000 meter high rock faces of Hochblassen and Hochwanner. From time to time, the path becomes quite gravelly and a little steeper, but good uphill bikers master the ascent without getting off (e-bikers anyway). With a view of the rushing Partnach waterfall, the trail climbs a step in the terrain and you reach the Reintalangerhütte about 15 minutes later. If you wish, you can ride a little further to the end of the valley until the path splits towards the Zugspitzplatt. After an extensive rest at the hut or on the gravel banks of the Partnach, you return the same way.
