Heimgarten – Walchensee
Description
The tour begins in Einsiedl at the Obernach parking lot. The forest road leads almost as far as Eschenlohe before turning right towards Heimgarten. Ride along the forest road for almost eight kilometers until you turn right at the junction onto a narrower forest road. The forest road soon becomes a cart track and now climbs steeply. After 1.7 kilometers in a wide bend to the right, you climb straight ahead across the meadow (difficult to see) and see a path on the right. Ride along the slope through the forest and come to a stream bed. Cross this and climb up the path on the right. It soon flattens out and goes slightly downhill.
On reaching a ridge, you can look down on Lake Walchensee and the Snakeline trail adventure begins on the right. At the beginning, still uphill with a few steep ramps, you have to push your bike. Until you finally reach a very flowing and winding section. However, it becomes increasingly steep and exposed in places. Rooty hairpin bends with offsets line the route. It becomes very technical. If you don't have very good riding technique, you will be pushing a lot and for a long time - because the trail is long. After what feels like 100 hairpin bends, the trail becomes easy again and leads into a forest road that leads to Walchensee. Ride back to Einsiedl via the small peninsula on the tarred road.
