Rifugio Casera Ere
Description
The ride starts just north of Meano. At first, you pedal steadily uphill along the main road, enjoying inviting panoramic views of the Piave Valley, before passing the San Pietro Chapel and finally switching from asphalt to gravel on the access road as you pedal toward Rifugio Casera Ere. The climb features moderate gradients, allowing you to steadily gain elevation meter by meter. Once you arrive at Rifugio Casera Ere, you can enjoy the magnificent view of Monte Pizzocco and the Piave Valley. Please note that the rifugio can get quite crowded on weekends. Therefore, the ride should be well-planned in terms of timing out of consideration for hikers.
The descent finally begins at the first hairpin bend, where you turn onto Sentiero 853 at difficulty levels S2 and S3. In the middle section, the difficulty level shifts to the smoother S1 to S2 range. Afterward, there is another uphill section where you cross the southern slopes once more before rolling back to the starting point on the final stretch with a very smooth ride.
