Höhronen-Umrundung

The Höhronen is an inconspicuous singletrail mountain high above Lake Zurich. The tour crosses and circles this attractive mountain bike summit.

Description

From Schindellegi, take the country road to Hütten and head down to Hüttner Brügg. Along the Sihl you reach the bridge at Finstersee, and from here you climb up to the Gottschalkenberg with its magnificent view of the Lake Zurich area. Passing the Chlausenchappeli, you then climb the Wildspitz, the highest point of the Höhronen. On the singletrail over the ridge, you reach the spot where the large transmission tower once stood, then head downhill to Fuseli and reach the starting point in Schindellegi via Friesischwand and Brunnisboden.

Alternatives: The route can be extended as desired with various singletrail descents from Höhronen.

Capercaillie breeding season 1 April to 31 May: road closure/bypass from Chlausenchäppeli  (Amt für Wald und Wild Kanton Zug)

Beautiful tour - but the trails are peppered with lots of roots. Unfortunately, some of them are not really rideable as they are extremely steep and washed out (trail from Wildspitz). Riding technique rather 3-4 I would say. Don't forget your enduro bike ;-) After the Wildspitz it always tends to go up a bit... Anyway, the view is definitely worth it :-)
PS: The wood grouse and capercaillie are currently on the loose (game protection time for a few weeks), so there are some driving bans
