Wildspitz Nordtour | Ride MTB

Wildspitz Nordtour

The Wildspitz is one of the most attractive mountain bike destinations in Central Switzerland. The "northern loop" rides from Ägeri to the summit and back again on single trails.

Description

The tour starts in the center of Unterägeri and rides along the southern shore of Lake Aegeri to the village of Hauptsee and along the main road to Sattel. The long ascent to the Wildspitz starts at Sunnenberg. The asphalt road leads up at a pleasant gradient, with only the last few meters leading over a very steep concrete ramp. At the summit, it is worth taking a break in the wonderfully situated restaurant. The descent leads over the north side of the Wildspitz on an easy single trail to Urzlenboden. After a few meters on the forest road in the direction of Zugerberg, turn right onto the single trail to Blimoos. At Hüribach, you come to a country road and follow this downhill to Unterägeri.

Today on May 1, 2019, I had to shoulder my bike for the first 300 m of the descent on the north side due to the heavy snow. Well, a little more thought in the planning would have helped ;-)
It will take at least another 2-3 warm weeks until it's all gone. Partly sunk in up to the calf...

The Urzlenboden is being re-gravelled. No longer worthwhile as a descent.
