Monte Baldo Süd
Description
The tour starts in Torri del Benaco. At the small church of San Siro, turn right and follow the road towards San Zeno. After the village, the route leads along small roads and gravel paths, but also repeatedly on beautiful single trails through small, picturesque villages, until you finally ride along a challenging, steep gravel road into the densely wooded flanks of the Dosso Buca Pomar. With an elevation gain of almost 900 meters, you soon reach the highest point of the tour. This is the start of a rather challenging enduro trail at S1 to S2 level with rocky steps and root passages through the tunnel-like maquis. The loop leads on asphalt back to the small village of Lumini and soon back into a labyrinth of fine trails. The trail runs above Albisano and further on along a ridge path with fantastic views over Lake Garda on Monte Lenzino.
The next highlight is Monte Monte Luppia. Here, the mighty Baldo massif tries to rebel one last time before surrendering to the waters of the lake at 60 meters above sea level. The last 400 Elevation loss, which leads high above Garda, directly along the cliff, is picture-perfect for several reasons. Not necessarily easy in terms of riding technique, but with plenty of flow, the route leads through sparse pine forests and Mediterranean maquis, past 3000-year-old rock carvings, down to the lake in Torri del Benaco.
Tip: Perfect detour for an Aperol Sprizz or a meal: The St. Vigilio peninsula between Torri and Garda. Here you can sit at the Locanda S.Vigilio restaurant right by the water on one of the most beautiful sun terraces on the whole of Lake Garda.
