Todtnau Trail-Tour
Description
The tour starts with the downhill section at the Hasenhorn chairlift. In our case, however, instead of downhill adrenaline, there is an uphill flow. After some gravel roads, you climb up a good trail to the Hasenhorn with its viewing tower. After a short section of S1 descent, there is a longer transfer passage on gravel to Gisiboden and on to the vicinity of the Silberberg. This is the starting point of the descent back to the Todtnau valley floor. Initially unspectacular in a mix of individual S1 trails and gravel, the route changes a little later to a super-flowing single trail, which also shows character with its many serpentines. In this style, you reach the village of Brandenberg, where phase two of the tour begins.
Phase two consists of a great trail that rides slightly above the valley floor to Todtnau. You first climb up a few meters, where the trail branches off to the left. This is super fun to ride, is initially flat and then leads down a moderate incline past the war memorial at Brandfelsen to Todtnau. However, you don't head down to the town center here, but start phase 3 of the tour on a gravel road.
The third part of the tour begins with the climb up to the famous waterfalls and then the gravel road ascent from Aftersteg to Knöpflesbrunnen. After a short meadow section, this is the start of the great trail descent down to Todtnau. The S1 trail winds its way through the forest. You pass the quirky vacation village and wind down to the outskirts of Todtnau via many hairpin bends and just as many flow sections.

I did the tour today at around 30 degrees with a light e-bike (Focus Jam2 SL) and it was great. the super flow trail from Brandenberg to Aftersteg was awesome and the southern Black Forest is always worth a bike trip.
