Fricktal-Umrundung

The Fricktal is "sandwiched" between the Rhine and the Aare and is therefore predestined for a long tour. The long tour rides from Frick to Koblenz and back to Koblenz via Brugg.

Description

In Frick, you start with a climb. Climb along the country road to Bodenhof, ride down to Ittenthal and finally reach Kaisten. Here the route climbs again towards Heuberg, which you cycle around on the north side and descend to Rheinsulz. The route now rides upstream along the banks of the Rhine. You are often on the official Veloland route, but time and again you turn off onto the single trails directly on the banks of the river. You reach the mouth of the Aare before Koblenz. Follow the river upstream on the eastern bank, past the Klingnau power path, the Beznau nuclear power plant and the Paul Scherrer Institute. At Stille, you change banks and cycle around the Bruggerberg on the steep southern side. The route continues along the Veloland route to Altstalden and the Roman path downhill to Effingen. A climb leads to Sennhütten, then you cross the Marchwald forest and finally climb the Frickberg as the final act. You return to Frick on forest paths, single trails and local roads.
