Endkopf - Grauner Alm
Description
The route starts in Graun in the Vinschgau Valley at the church by the sunken village. From here, the route initially follows the Langtauferer valley road on asphalt for a few meters before turning right and pedalling steadily on gravel at a moderate gradient to the Grauner Alm. From the forest clearings on the ascent, there is a fabulous view of Lake Reschen all the way to the Ortler group, showing the king in all his glory. The route continues uphill in this manner until the Grauner Alm. The bike is then pushed and carried up to the saddle and then up to the Endkopf (approx. 450 vertical meters). The summit cross of the Endkopf is slightly lower than the highest point, but due to this positioning it offers a rich panorama and great views of Lake Reschen, as the western side is extremely brittle and slopes steeply.
The downhill is also extremely steep. Initially on difficulty level S2, there are a few hairpin bends with views down to the saddle. Then on a thoroughbred S3 trail to the Grauner Alm. Offsetting the rear wheel is an advantage here, especially in the tight hairpin bends. From the Grauner Alm, the route continues on S1 to S2 back to Graun in the Vinschgau Valley. Initially along the Vivana Tal stream to the power station, briefly on the ascent variant and later down parallel in typical Vinschgau Valley style and let the trail Elevation loss only so destroyed. All in all, an absolute dream tour, which is a real highlight due to its solitude, fabulous panorama and trail technology.
If you're on an e-mountain bike, just ride to the Grauner Alm and from here directly onto the trail descent back to Graun.
