Falkenhütte
Description
Just before Hinterriss, you start the tour and first ride along the tarred road towards Eng. After around 3.5 kilometers, turn right onto a gravel road into the Johannistal valley and ride up this. In total, the ascent to the Falkenhütte is 12 kilometers long. The 1000 vertical meters in one stretch (sometimes very steep) seem to go on forever. The Falkenhütte stands alone beneath the Laliderer walls, surrounded by the majestic mountains of the Karwendel. It's a very unusual backdrop up here. hgNow it's time to stop for a bite to eat before tackling the long trail to Eng. The trail is very gravelly and sometimes blocked, especially at the start. Before the Hohljoch, the trail climbs uphill again briefly until you reach the less difficult trail down to the Eng. At Ahornboden, you ride out of the Risstal valley on the tarred road to Hinterriss. Wonderful views of the gigantic mountain giants line the way and so you roll back to the starting point.
Note: The route is located on Austrian territory and leads over routes that are not approved for mountain bikers. Riding this route on a mountain bike is the responsibility of each individual, in full awareness of the legal situation.
