Glaswandscharte
Description
From Jachenau, take the forest road towards Rabenkopf. Always follow the signs for Rabenkopf Stalleralm. After about eight kilometers, a path branches off to the right, on which you have to push uphill for a short distance. The trail leads to Pessenbacher Schneid, from here you keep right and ride the trail towards Benediktenwand. At first the trail goes slightly uphill, then after a while it goes slightly downhill until you descend steeply to the alp just before the Achalaalm. Then continue on the forest road for a short distance until the trail continues steeply and rooty on the left. Once you reach the forest road at the bottom, ride left towards Benediktenwand, Glaswandscharte. A few very steep climbs await you here until you reach the junction of the Glaswandscharten trail. The first part is very rocky and steep, then you come to another forest road and turn left onto the trail, now it gets very steep and rocky, you cross the Glasbach stream and ride along the steep slope. There is a danger of falling in several places here. Only those with absolute riding skills will have fun on this section, otherwise you will have to push your bike downhill. So you fight your way down into the valley and come out at the Lainlalm. This is managed and has excellent homemade cakes, after which you roll back to Jachenau. The difficulty level of the descent is S4 to S5.
