Pirmasens Rundtour
Description
The tour starts at a hiking parking lot above the idyllic Eisweiher pond. The route follows the Dankelsbach stream on a flat path, alternating with short sections of trail, before climbing to the right to our first downhill trail. The partly challenging descent takes us to Forsthaus Beckenhof. After crossing the parking lot, we ride back into the terrain, first on a wide path, before continuing upwards on a narrow path. Once there, the trail leads us downhill. We cross the main road and stay on it for a short while before entering the forest again before Erlenbrunn. Short, narrow paths alternate with forest road rides before we reach the "Drei Buchen" forest house. A short stop here may be necessary to catch your breath and have a snack. The route continues after a short, steeper trail to the village of Glashütte, which we cross and are rewarded with another trail on the opposite side. This is followed by a longer ascent towards Hüttenkopf on a wide path. This offers a beautiful view of the valley floor on the right. This is followed by a short, narrow path on the descent, which ends in a longer descent on a forest road. Now it's uphill again to the "Hohe List" hiking lodge. Here you can take a longer break. After the forester's lodge, the route first goes downhill and then gently up and down towards the Naturfreundehaus Niedersimten. Now we ride through the village of Obersimten, followed by a short trail downhill to the Rehmühle mill. The route continues alternately on natural paths and roads to Niedersimten. We leave the town center of Pirmasens to our left and pedal easily back to the starting point on a narrow trail through the play park past the ice pond.
