Compact mountain bike tour from Albersweiler with lots of little highlights such as castles, cliffs and stunning views.

Description

The tranquil village of Albersweiler on the Southern Wine Route is the starting point of the tour. The route rolls flat through the village, then after a short section of cycle path and road, slightly uphill into the forest. We ride downhill again on a forest road and a short narrow path to the 3-Burgen-Blick. The vantage point offers a view of the three castles of Trifels, Anebos and Scharfenberg. After a short break, the trail rides to Gräfenhausen. We now have to tackle our first long ascent. Passing the forest stadium, we follow a partly narrow path to the summer rock. A short detour to the rock massif is worthwhile here. The route then descends rapidly into Eußerthal. We ride past the Birkenthaler Hof inn, where we can take a longer break. We continue uphill again, below the Watterskopf on beautiful paths. Enjoy the view of the surrounding mountains. We ride downhill on forest paths and short trail sections to Ramberg. Here, too, there is the option of a short detour to the ruins of Ramburg Castle. We take the short but challenging Bürstenbinderweg trail with easy ups and downs and then cross the main road. The route now leads to the Dernbacher Haus, where you can also take a break. The rest of the ride now takes us along forest paths and short trail sections to St. Johann, past the historic Rokokoschlößchen castle. Now we ride slightly downhill on side roads back to Albersweiler.
