Südpfalz
Description
This tour is characterized by a constant up and down with different surfaces. From the spa town of Bad Bergzabern, which is idyllically nestled between vineyards and the adjacent forest, we head towards Böllenborn on side roads, where the first long climb follows on a tarred road. Once at the top, we take a nice flowing single trail downhill. The trail is easy to ride, the sandy surface offers enough grip even when wet and the long bends are dynamic. The route continues, alternating between short and longer trail sections on tarred and forest roads.
Then we cycle under the ruins of Lindelbrunn Castle, past the Cramerhaus restaurant. We recommend taking a break there. You should also visit the castle located directly on the route. Not only does it offer a magnificent view of the Palatinate Forest, but the panorama extends as far as the Rhine plain and the Black Forest further afield. Afterwards, the route first follows a road and then a forest path up to our highlight of the tour: the following single trail begins on the right with a narrow rocky passage. It is a spectacular ride through the middle of the rock over a gap to the next downhill trail. This then stretches along the slope for a very long time, with several low rock slabs and two hairpin bends to negotiate. At the bottom, there is another ascent via the Silzer Linde to Blankenborn before we cycle down a very long and flowing single trail. Back in Bad Bergzabern, the route is varied up and down on wide and narrow paths back to the starting point.
