Gilfert
Description
The starting point is the small village of Pill near Vomp in the Inn Valley. A relaxed ride up the official cycle route to the Nonsalm, initially on asphalt and later on gravel. A seemingly endless climb ends in the pedalable area at 1900 meters above sea level. Now the bike ends up on the back or is pushed up the path to the summit cross of the Gilfert. At the summit you have a breathtaking panorama, which is in a class of its own, especially in the fall. The lifts of the Zillertal mountain railroads are a little unsightly, but they don't really get in the way when the view is to the north.
The descent runs northwards on difficulty levels S2 to S3, past the Wetterkreuz with a magnificent view on gravel, later on forest floor and roots past the Nonsberg (here with counter ascents) and then a wonderful forest path to the Hüttegglift reservoir. At the Hüttegglift, you surf parallel to the ski slope, also along forest paths, before finally reaching the Hüttegg valley station, where the next singletrail section awaits you. Difficulty levels S2 to S3 are on offer here, followed by the last trail on difficulty level S2 until you reach the Inntal valley again. Then it's a relaxed ride back along the main road to the starting point of the tour.
Note: The route is located on Austrian territory and leads over routes that are not approved for mountain bikers. Riding this route on a mountain bike is the responsibility of each individual, in full awareness of the legal situation.
