Rofanspitze
Description
It should be noted in advance that the Rofanspitze is a popular destination for hikers, but outside of the vacation periods and especially outside the operating times of the Rofanbahn, it is a wonderful mountain for biking.
Start in the small village of Münster in the Inn Valley. From here, the route takes you from asphalt to gravel and up a forest road on a medium to moderate gradient, past the Alpiglalm and on to the Schermsteinalm. From here, the bike is then only transported by pushing and carrying it up to the summit at almost 2200 meters above sea level. The upper third of the ascent already offers a fabulous panorama, which is only topped at the summit. An indescribable panoramic view is on offer here. The descent is just as magnificent. On difficulty level S3, sometimes with key sections in the S4 range, it leads to the Mauritzalm. Past the Mauritzalm, the trail then continues on a similar level of difficulty (S2 to S3) to Maurach, although some of the key sections here are a little more difficult. At Lake Achensee, there is then a transfer towards Notburga-Brunnen and from here the Kreuzweg on difficulty levels S1 to S2 to Jenbach and a relaxed route on main and side roads back to the starting point in Münster.
Note: The route is located on Austrian territory and leads over routes that are not approved for mountain bikers. Riding this route on a mountain bike is the responsibility of each individual, in full awareness of the legal situation.
