Lutersee

Lutersee

The idyllic Lutersee is hidden high above the Oberalp Pass, is easy to reach on a mountain road and boasts a great singletrail descent all the way down to Andermatt.

Description

The tour starts at Nätschen station just above Andermatt. You can get here by train from Andermatt, but you can also easily cover the 400 meters in altitude on the Oberalp Pass road under your own steam. From Nätschen, you climb up to Gütsch on the gravel road. A gondola lift opened in 2018 would actually be in operation here. From the Gütsch mountain station, you roll along the gravel road through the alpine terrain to the idyllically situated Lutersee lake. This is the starting point of a challenging singletrail descent down to the pass road at Oberalpsee. Here you change sides of the valley and follow an extremely flowing and fast trail towards Andermatt. A little later, you reach the Rüfenen group of houses, where the final bouquet of trails down to Andermatt begins: a varied, less, fast and in a few places tricky single trail that rides into the center of Andermatt.
