Alp Tgom
Description
From Sedrun, the tour starts downhill to Surrein, where the road rides moderately uphill into Val Nalps. After Burcanets, the warm-up is over and you cross the Rein da Nalps to the more scenic side. After Pardatsch da Vaccas, the wide, steep alpine path soon turns into a trail that rides further into the valley at roughly the same gradient as the road opposite. Shortly before the final ascent to Lai da Nalps, the route switches back to the road and up to the reservoir. The hike-a-bike begins at the other end of the dam wall. It climbs almost 400 meters until the route turns right at Alpetta and joins the mountain trail. It is still slightly uphill, but fit riders with good riding skills can master almost everything in the saddle. Whether walking or riding, it is important to stay safe on the partly exposed section. The fun begins a little below the highest point. The terrain opens up at Alp Tgom, where the trail also widens slightly. Below the Tgom mountain station (the cable car does not transport guests in summer), there is a perfect singletrail with hairpin bends, roots and small drops, everything that good bikers enjoy. At Sut Seivs, you have to bridge a section on the alpine road, but then turn right again onto the trail, which rides back to Surrein in a flowing manner with a few roots in between. At the height of summer, a detour to the Lag Claus bathing lake is worthwhile here before the last few meters of altitude back to Sedrun beckon.
