Uphill from Furkapass exciting, some of it rideable. A short carry at the end. Wonderful views and simply follow the marked posts. The path/trail is no longer visible/rideable from Simmigstafel and the bushes (300m!) are tedious. Here you ask yourself whether you should do the tour again or recommend it to others... if you love adventure, it's no problem. You will be rewarded with a flowing outrun from "1728". Definitely more suitable for the masses in winter.
We rode the tour after the Urseren Höhenweg on 7.8.20.
We were shuttled by cab (only 2 post buses a day ride up the Furka Pass !!!), from the top of the pass most of the way is pushed/carried. However, you are rewarded with a magnificent view of the Stotzigen Firsten, unique!
The descent is not without its challenges and you need a certain amount of riding technique (and sometimes imagination to find the trail ... thanks Mic :-) to enjoy it, but for us it was just right :-)
There can still be snow around the Schwärziseeli even in midsummer. Crossing snow fields by bike is not easy. The descent to Realp may not be rideable for many bikers. Whether you want to carry and push your bike downhill again is of course up to you. I only recommend this route to very experienced bikers.
