Monte Acomizza (Achomitzer Alm)
Description
The start is in Ugovizza. From here, the route climbs steadily uphill on asphalt serpentines and later along a military road in the Vallo Alpino. Gently embedded in the grassy mountains near the Italian-Austrian border between Friuli and Carinthia, this is how you gain altitude. At the Cappella di Saint Ubertus, you have almost reached the highest point of the tour and already have a rewarding view of the surrounding area. The route then continues on gravel for the last few meters up to the Achomitzer Alm. The Achomitzer Alm was heavily fortified by the Italians during the Second World War. As a result, there are countless bunkers and barracks of the Vallo Alpino on the tour. So if you have a flashlight with you, you can explore them as the facilities are open.
The downhill trail is just as interesting and worthwhile. From the Achomitzer Alm, a gravel road mutates into a gentle single trail. Initially at a difficulty level of S1 to S2, there are several hairpin bends down to the rest area. The path here is a little washed out in places. The trail remains at this level and leads to Torrente Gaccia and then on difficulty S2 to S3 along a mule track, also from the Vallo Alpino road network, to Rio Bartolo. From here, you then roll back in a relaxed manner towards the Kanaltal valley and then along the disused railroad line with a relaxed gradient back to Ugovizza.

Beautiful trail. There are two different descents, both with S3 sections.
You can do both in one morning on an e-bike.
Super Nice!!! Even though I had to push in some places on the downhill.
