The Il Pelvo summit is located on the Italian-French border in the Valle Varaita near the Col Agnel and is a hidden trail paradise including a 3000-metre peak that needs to be explored.

Description

The tour starts in Casteldelfino and at the beginning is more reminiscent of the Tour de France than an enduro route. Via Castello and Pontechianale, the route climbs up to 2750 meters above sea level to the Colle dell'Agnello (Col Agnel). Once you reach the pass, you are right on the border between Italy and France and at the same time in one of the most beautiful Alpine regions. Far away from any civilization, there is absolute peace and quiet and a fascinating and bizarre mountain world lies at your feet. At the pass, it's time to put on your helmet and pads: a short trail cut to the north and then west to the Col de Chamoussière just below the summit, where you have to push and carry the last 150 meters in altitude. From the saddle to the summit of Il Pelvo it is only a few minutes and you are finally at an altitude of 3021 meters above sea level. The 3,000-metre altitude mark has been cracked and invites you to enjoy a trail descent at a level of S2 to S3 on a continuous trail to Chianale. From Chianale you roll a few meters back to Pontechianale and from the reservoir it's back to S2 and S3 level back to the starting point in Casteldelfino. Conclusion: All in all, an extremely coherent and first-class tour in terms of effort/yield in the middle of the Western Alps, which is characterized by its solitude and its good panorama. Furthermore, the trails are very varied and there is everything from high alpine character to flowing forest sections.

If you want to be shuttled, you have the option of taking a cab or bus to Colle dell'Agnello. This shortens the tour considerably and you only have to climb 400 meters to the summit. It is also possible to do the whole tour on an e-bike, as the pushing passages are easy with the push function.
