Rocca Senghi

At the head of the Varaita di Bellino valley, you can see the Rocca Senghi. A bizarre rock formation, which today offers mountain bikers a short but impressive tour thanks to a defensive structure from the Second World War.

Description

The starting point is the head of the Varaita di Bellino valley, the small village of San't Anna. From here, you pedal on gravel, relatively steeply at first, and continue along historic paths to Grange Cruset. From here, the bike is pushed or carried up a few hairpin bends to an altitude of almost 2400 meters above sea level. Once you reach the summit, you are greeted by defensive structures and lost places, which reflect a magnificent view of a fantastic mountain backdrop. Surrounded by the 3000-meter peaks, you can find a place of strength here, especially in autumn and spring. There is also a great trail descent. Starting from the summit, the route leads back to the starting point on difficulty level S2. Some of the hairpin bends are rideable and do not need to be offset, offering a short but rewarding trail descent.

Tip: Be sure to take a torch with you to explore the lost places at the summit.
